Access and Special Assistance
Canberra Theatre Centre offers a range of access services. Please mark the appropriate special assistance box at Step 04 of your booking form.
Theatre Captions
In 2009, selected performances will be live captioned by The Captioning Studio for patrons who are deaf or hearing impaired. The on-stage dialogue is displayed in real-time on screens in the auditorium or if preferred on a discreet handheld device. See following page for details of captioned performances in 2009.
Wheelchair Access & Mobility Assistance
If you need wheelchair access or mobility assistance, please mark the appropriate box on your booking form.
FM Radio Assisted Hearing System
An FM radio assisted hearing system is available for all performances at The Playhouse and Canberra Theatre. The FM system amplifies and improves the quality of the sound through a headset or hearing aid.
Audio Description
In 2009, selected performances will be audio described by trained volunteers from Vision Australia. Audio description is a narration of the visual elements of live theatre transmitted through a small receiver and earpiece for patrons with low or no vision. See following page for details of audio described performances in 2009.
